# Look up a company by domain with PredictLeads' company data API

PredictLeads' company data API returns a company's profile from its domain: its name, descriptions, ticker, language, structured locations, parent, subsidiaries and similar companies. One lookup costs $0.04, a flat price for the response. Send `GET https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/api/v3/companies/{domain}`, pay the 402 price quote over x402 or MPP, and retry, with no sign-up or API key.

## At a glance

- **Endpoint:** `GET https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/api/v3/companies/{id_or_domain}`, where the path value is the company's domain or PredictLeads ID
- **Request:** no body and no required query parameters
- **Price:** $0.04 per response, a flat price per response
- **Payment:** a 402 price quote, paid over x402 (Base USDC) or MPP (Tempo USDC), then the same request retried. No account or API key.
- **Response:** JSON with `data` (the company), `included` (linked companies) and `meta`
- **Billing rule:** company lookups and per-company datasets are billed per response. Discovery searches and similar companies are billed per record returned.
- **Full purchase flow:** [buyer skill](https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/SKILL.md)

## Look up a company

1. Send the request without payment:

   ```bash
   curl -i https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/api/v3/companies/stripe.com
   ```

   The storefront answers `402`, the price quote. Nothing is charged at this point, so it is safe to stop here.

2. Pay the 402 with your x402 or MPP client and send the identical request again with the proof attached. The [buyer skill](https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/SKILL.md) covers settling it. The example lookup of `stripe.com` paid $0.04.

3. Read the `200` response. The response for `stripe.com`, trimmed, looks like this.

   ```json
   {
     "data": [{
       "id": "<id>",
       "type": "company",
       "attributes": {
         "domain": "stripe.com",
         "company_name": "Stripe, Inc.",
         "friendly_company_name": "Stripe",
         "ticker": null,
         "meta_title": "Stripe | Financial Infrastructure to Grow Your Revenue",
         "language": "en",
         "location": "354 Oyster Point Blvd, South San Francisco, CA 94080, United States",
         "location_data": [{"city": "South San Francisco", "country": "United States", "category": "headquarters", "fuzzy_match": false}]
       },
       "relationships": {
         "redirects_to": {"data": null, "meta": {"reason": null}},
         "parent_company": {"data": null},
         "subsidiary_companies": {"data": [{"id": "<id>", "type": "company"}]},
         "similar_companies": {"data": [{"id": "<id>", "type": "company"}]}
       }
     }],
     "included": [{"id": "<id>", "type": "company", "attributes": {"domain": "stripe.network", "company_name": "Stripe", "ticker": null}}],
     "meta": {"schema_version": "3.5", "record_state": "active", "message_type": "ok"}
   }
   ```

## Read the company record

| Field | What it holds |
| --- | --- |
| `company_name`, `friendly_company_name` | Legal-style name and short name |
| `description`, `description_short` | Translated and summarized descriptions |
| `meta_title`, `meta_description`, `language` | Taken from the company's website |
| `ticker` | Stock symbol, or `null` |
| `location`, `location_data` | Location string and structured entries, each with a `category` such as `headquarters`, `office` or `service_area`, and `fuzzy_match: true` where extraction may be inexact |
| `relationships` | `parent_company`, `subsidiary_companies`, `similar_companies` and `redirects_to` (with a `reason` of `acquisition_merger`, `locality` or `rebranding`), as IDs |
| `included` | The linked companies, with `domain`, `company_name` and `ticker` |

Match each relationship ID to `included` to get the company's domain. The `stripe.com` record lists 14 locations, 74 subsidiary companies and 5 similar companies, and its `meta.message` suggests running the same query on a subsidiary's domain.

## Open other datasets for the same company

Each of these datasets answers for one company, at `GET https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/api/v3/companies/{domain}/<path>`. Each service's parameters are in its spec at `https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/services/{slug}/openapi.json`.

| Dataset | Path | Billed |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Job openings | `job_openings` | $0.04 per response |
| News events | `news_events` | $0.04 per response |
| Financing events | `financing_events` | $0.04 per response |
| Technology detections | `technology_detections` | $0.04 per response |
| Products | `products` | $0.04 per response |
| Connections | `connections` | $0.04 per response |
| Similar companies | `similar_companies` | $0.04 per record |
| GitHub repositories | `github_repositories` | $0.04 per response |
| SEC filings | `sec_filings` | $0.04 per response |
| Subpages | `subpages` | $0.04 per response |

## Search across companies

Discovery searches return many companies or records, and they are billed per record returned. To find companies by location and size, send a request like this:

```bash
curl -i "https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/api/v3/discover/companies?location=United%20States&sizes=11-50,51-200&limit=10"
```

Results are ordered by last updated date and billed at $0.04 per record. A search that returns 10 records is billed $0.40.

`limit` defaults to 30 and accepts up to 1000. Set it to the number of records you need. The 402 quotes the amount before anything is charged.

Other filters are `industry`, `naics_codes`, `revenue_range_low` and `revenue_range_high`. The same per-record billing applies to these searches:

- discovery of extended companies
- job openings
- news events
- financing events
- products
- technology detections by technology
- portfolio and public company connections
- GitHub repositories
- startup platform posts

Their rates are on the [services page](https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/services).

## Limits and charges

- One company per lookup. A list of domains is one request per domain.
- Size range, industry, logo, slogan and company type are listed under the Extended Companies dataset, priced at $0.08 per response.
- An unpaid 402 charges nothing.
- Card pays a pay-as-you-go call only when it costs $0.50 or more. For smaller calls, prepaid Credits draw down a balance instead. Credits have a minimum of $0.50 and need an agent identity.

## Errors

| Response | Meaning | Action |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `402` with a `payment` block | The price quote. Nothing is charged yet. | Pay and retry the same request, or stop |
| `settlement_failed` | The payment did not settle, and `settlementReason` says why | Fix the wallet, then send a fresh request |
| `404` | No record for that domain or ID | Check the domain |
| `429` | Too many requests | Wait the `Retry-After` seconds, then retry |
| `401 bearer_required` | Buying Credits needs an agent identity | Register through [auth.md](https://agents.predictleads.com/zcj/aoulpj7ebmlv/auth.md), or pay per call |
